ELANA HATTON
Research Assistant
B.S. Marine Biology - Hawai'i Pacific University
Elana graduated from Hawaii Pacific University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology in 2015. She elected to focus her studies on the possible global migration and metapopulation of whale sharks. Elana has spent many years educating the youth about the natural world and ensuring all animals, including humans, have a place in it. She is currently working in aquaculture and is loving being back on the Big Island. Hawaii Uncharted Research Collective allows her to couple her passion for whale sharks, education, and global community. Elana’s passion and dedication to the natural world makes her time with HURC incredibly engaging and rewarding.

“The more we learn about whale sharks and specifically those in Hawaiian waters, the more we learn we do not know. How exciting is that?!”
