UPDATE POSTS:
Well it is official we have 200 individuals! And counting...so many sightings continue to roll in weekly.
In an effort to go green, we have now completely shifted to emailing our naming certificates. Any whale shark named from Rt 200 on will receive a PDF and PNG version for printing/sharing.
We are have put out a social call for help with a grant from the Servco Foundation. It requires a 150 word narrative. If you have the chance, please submit for HURC. The nominations are only open unitl July 14th: https://www.servco.com/giving-back/community-grant-program/
There was an entangled whale shark spotted on the North Shore of Oahu. The captain/crew from the dive boat jumped in and completely freed the animal. Unfortunately the gear was trashed before we could collect it. Photos will be below.
More events have been added to our Facebook and website. They will be listed below as well.
We are still focusing on 1 big fundraiser for the end of year. If you have ideas, let me (Maria) know.
